From a simple scene to a story with a twist
Emoji Trail has four difficulty levels. Story length is one part of the challenge; you also need to follow the order of events, distinguish similar ideas, and understand causes or changes of plan. The three tutorials stay short so you can learn the controls first.
Easy
5–10 wordsShort stories with a clear subject and action. Match the main event to the pictures, then choose the details that belong in the sentence.
Medium
8–12 wordsMore detail and a stronger connection between events. Watch who acts, what changes, and which words explain the scene most precisely.
Hard
12–15 wordsLonger stories that need careful ordering. Causes, contrasts, or consequences can make a plausible first guess incomplete.
Legendary
15–20 wordsThe longest mini-stories, with more events to connect. Read every scene before committing to an answer, and check how the ending changes your understanding of the earlier clues.
Why a longer answer is not the whole challenge
The word ranges overlap because length alone does not describe a puzzle. A story can be harder when two words seem plausible, when an event explains a later action, or when the final scene reveals a surprise.
The aim is to construct a complete mini-story rather than list the objects you see. A sentence can sound grammatical and still fail to explain the pictures. Before checking, ask whether your answer identifies the subject, states the action, and preserves the order and meaning of the scenes.
A useful approach to harder emoji story puzzles
First, describe each numbered scene to yourself in plain language. Next, find the matching subjects and verbs in the word bank. Only then connect the events into a sentence. This helps you separate what the pictures actually show from details you may have imagined.
Pay particular attention to connecting words. A cause is different from an event that merely happens next, and a contrast changes the meaning of the whole story. Spare words can suggest a believable alternative, so use the full clue to decide which belongs.
Where to find your next challenge
There are 135 puzzles in total: three tutorials, 120 stories across six worlds, and 12 bonus Legendary challenges. The main trail introduces the game gradually. The “Challenge me” button opens the bonus collection immediately if you want a tougher starting point.
You can take as long as you like and use help when needed. The game saves progress locally in your browser, making it easy to leave a story and return on the same device.
